The Winner of the Hong Kong Prize is Determined by a Panel of Judges

The Hong Kong Prize is an international development competition designed to recognize innovative ideas for how Hong Kong can promote international development through innovation. Awarded by Generocity, which supports Hong Kong as a global leader in development cooperation, this prize also serves as a showcase of its strengths in innovation and entrepreneurship while being open to all Hong Kong residents.

The winner of the Hong Kong Prize is chosen by an elite panel of judges from business, finance, and philanthropy. Acceptance into this prestigious program is considered an immense honour; winning this prize symbolizes their hard work to make an impactful change in society. As well as receiving cash prize, winners are also invited to attend an exclusive gala dinner event hosted by award-winning entrepreneurs – becoming part of an exclusive network.

Winners will also receive an award certificate and personalized trophy that they can display in their workplace. The judging panel will assess both the quality and impact of each entry submitted for consideration as well as any innovation and entrepreneurialism displayed by nominees, along with strength of its business plan or financial projections.

As with other prize draws at HKJC, measures have been implemented to ensure fairness of this draw. Employees from security and customer service departments of HKJC are charged with measuring, weighing, and inspecting balls used for the draw regularly before locking away prizes in a safe following each draw. Employees also ensure that one set of balls does not return in successive drawings.
