The Dyson Prize

The SDY Prize is a prestigious Canadian award given annually to scientists and engineers for outstanding contributions made to structural dynamics, ultrafast electron diffraction, materials science or other areas related to natural sciences and engineering research. Established by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada in 2003 and named after Sir Harold John Dyson (renowned Canadian physicist), it features both cash grants and medals with an accompanying plaque bearing his name.

The Sdy Prize is bestowed annually upon a scientist or engineer for significant contributions in structural dynamics, ultrafast electron diffraction, material science or other relevant fields. It was named for Sir Harold John Dyson who held membership with both Royal Society of Canada and was also an outstanding Canadian physicist renowned as a Nobel laureate.

Dividend-focused investors may find this strategy particularly suitable, since its focus lies in investing in securities with high dividend yield and which have consistently raised their payout for at least 25 years. Though its diversification may not be expansive enough.

Reducing expectations when receiving prizes should not be seen as the ultimate proof of value for one’s art (as many artists tend to), but instead as momentary flashes of encouragement; an affirmation that your hard work and talent is valued. Like birthday presents or bacon, any recognition can help boost one’s motivation to create better work next time around; take this recognition and use it towards making better work next time; do not view prizes as eternal status symbols but as opportunities that could come at any moment and take your mind off making something good next time around – always be mindful that this piece could disappear without warning!
